I help small businesses make a big impact.

Every business owner wants their marketing dollars to turn into dollars in their bank account. But most small business owners don’t have the time, energy or budget to hire a big agency or employ a full-time marketing director. Yet, a cohesive marketing system is essential if you want to grow your business.

That’s where I come in.

My Approach

Two things most marketers keep separate.

Strategy + Soul

Strategy without soul produces content no one reads. Creativity without strategy produces beautiful work no one finds. After fifteen years at the intersection of both, I've stopped choosing between them.

My background is in writing, graduate training, an obsession with getting the sentence exactly right, the belief that every word has to earn its place. My expertise is in marketing—email campaigns, social strategy, content calendars, lead generation—the mechanics that actually move people from curious to committed.

When both are working together, your marketing stops being a task you avoid and becomes the momentum that propels you forward.

I weave them together.

Everything is marketing.

The logo. The color palette. The website. The social media feed. The smell of your storefront when someone walks through the door for the first time. The person who greets them when they do. The way a package is wrapped. The email that lands on a Tuesday morning with a discount you actually needed. The ad they heard in the middle of their favorite podcast. Every touchpoint a customer has with your business — planned or not — is communicating something.

You’re always marketing, whether you’re trying to or not. But are you doing it with intention?

When everything works together — the visual, the verbal, the experiential — something clicks. People understand immediately who you are, what you stand for, and whether you're the right fit. They don't have to work to figure you out.

That coherence — across every channel, every interaction, every first impression — is what I build.

What I’ve Noticed

Small business owners are passionate about what they do. I know this firsthand because I’m one of them! I’ve had the pleasure of working with a wide range of small business owners, and oftentimes, they are so busy working IN the business that they rarely have time to work ON the business. Their days are full of the detailed tactical work rather than the broad strokes work that will grow the business. When it comes to their marketing, it’s an afterthought. It’s something they know they need to do, but it gets the leftovers of their energy and time at the end of the day.

And marketing and advertising just isn’t what it used to be.

The marketing technology landscape (or MARTEC as it’s known in the industry) has never been more overwhelming. There are hundreds of platforms and tools for email, social media, CRM, advertising, automation, and analytics. And now, layered on top of all of it, AI is changing what's possible faster than anyone can keep up with.

Most small business owners I meet are drowning in subscriptions to tools they barely understand. Paying for platforms they don't have time to learn. Spending more hours managing the technology than actually using it to grow their business. And when a new AI tool drops every other week promising to change everything, the paralysis only gets worse.

Cutting through that noise is part of what I do. I'll assess your specific situation — your goals, your team, your capacity — and tell you exactly what technology makes sense for you and what doesn't. No overselling or unnecessary complexity. Just the right tools, set up the right way, actually working the way they're supposed to.

Why I Do What I Do

I’m Lauren Vogel. Marketer. Mother. Entrepreneur. I started as a writer — graduate-trained, obsessed with getting the sentence exactly right, convinced that language at its best could stop a person cold. When I moved into marketing, that all came with me.

What I found is that small businesses need it more than anyone: you aren't a corporation with a full marketing department behind you, you’re someone who built something real, with real stakes attached to everything you do.

When your brand consistently looks like you, and when your marketing finally sounds like you, and you have the right technology, your message reaches the people who need your products and services. That shift changes the game and propels you to the next level of running a successful business.

Shall We?
